Thank you for your interest in our Brain Health Check with Dr. Amy, our GP with a special interest in brain health. The initial consultation, lasting about one hour, includes a session with our nurse, completion of pre-questionnaires, and a thorough assessment with Dr. Amy.
The cost for the initial consult is $250, with a Medicare rebate of $120. During this consult, you’ll receive general advice regarding the assessment outcome and you can choose to conclude the process at the end of this consultation. However, we pride ourselves on providing a detailed and personalised assessment, offering individualised advice and a comprehensive management plan tailored to your needs.
We understand that the processes leading to dementia can begin more than 10 years before symptoms become noticeable, and we focus on detecting subtle signs that will benefit from a multidisciplinary approach. If any symptoms are identified, we can refer you to a dementia expert for further assessment and management. Early intervention can significantly modify the disease course, and the sooner we intervene, the better the potential outcomes.
Should you choose, the second part of the assessment includes a comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation of your brain health. This involves consultations with our specialist allied health team, including a dietitian, physiotherapist, speech pathologist, psychologist, and neuropsychologist. Specialist blood tests and imaging are included, and depending on the results, you may be referred for additional tests like sleep studies, cardiac stress tests, or genetic testing (pre- and post-test counselling is provided for genetic studies).
The cost for this full multidisciplinary assessment is $2500. Our team will then meet to discuss your results and provide you with a detailed, personalized evaluation and recommendations.
